Despite all the tumult the bodybuilding legend, Arnold Schwarzenegger and his family went through due to his involvement in a scandal, the ex-couple are on good terms. They have maintained a positive relationship even after their official divorce in 2021. Journalist and ex-wife, Maria Shriver and the former athlete happened to be good “friends” even today and have kept their family aloof from the noise. 

Therefore, a week ahead of his TV show debut, FUBAR’s release, Schwarzenegger briefly shed light on their responsibility as separated parents to their four kids, as per The Hollywood Reporter. He also hailed Shriver for her amazing genetics and revealed the qualities his kids have inherited from her.

In a recent interview with the sources, the 75-year-old legend discussed a range of topics relating to his life, professional or personal. A subsequent question asked about his thoughts on not being married anymore, precisely, if he “misses” it. Interestingly, Schwarzenegger promptly denied it. 

However, he directed the conversation toward their triumphs as parents. He claimed despite all the “drama” the ex-couple have developed a great understanding over time. They celebrate every occasion together as a family, be it Christmas, Mother’s Day, or birthdays. Furthermore, hinting at the good demeanor of their kids, The Austrian Oak admitted that it was Shriver’s influence on them.

“The sweetness and kindness you see in them, that’s from my wife. The discipline and work ethic is from me,” he said in the interview. The star athlete iterated himself as being the stricter parent, imparting the values of discipline and professionalism. Whereas their mother helped them grow into kind and empathetic adults. Nevertheless, Schwarzenegger also disclosed that he has somebody new in his life now.

While not married now, the Terminator actor has let himself out seeking love relationships. Owing to his boisterous past, he has seemed to move on and now lives with his “wonderful girlfriend.” He confessed that he is “really proud” of her partner, Heather Mulligan who works as a professional physical therapist. 

She “is very successful.” Thus, Schwarzenegger shared, “I’m really proud of her, and I love her.” But this doesn’t mean that his affection for Shriver is lost, as he chimed in, “at the same time, I love my wife.”
