Therefore, sharing a segment from one of his recent blogs, Zane discussed the true potential of dumbbell workouts on Instagram. While it is a popular workout known to almost everybody, the IFBB pro asserted the precision of doing it, which has added benefits.

Frank Zane explains the value of a dumbbell workout

Taking to his Instagram handle hours ago, the 81-year-old athlete denoted that dumbbells are “the best for a workout” because they exercise each side of the upper body independently. While it is a basic workout performed by enthusiasts at all levels, be it an amateur or a pro, many fail to use it to its full potential.

A great deal of control and balance must be learned to negotiate a successful dumbbell workout,” he wrote. Moreover, Zane suggested that little deviations in the movement produce varied effects on muscle conditioning, working out distinct regions of the upper body in a range of ways.

“Dumbbells build muscle shape,” the IFBB champion concluded his tip note. Whereas, the picture attached to the post was from Zane’s prime days, featuring his peak physique that earned him recognition as the King of Aesthetics. Similarly, the athlete once shared the secret to achieving the perfect muscle pump.

Zane has been quite clear about his priorities. He never swore by training intense or heavy. Instead, the athlete opted for a more precise and focused workout. Thus, speaking in an interview in 2021, the IFBB proclaimed that workouts ought to bring out a pump around the end. Otherwise, it was not worth doing it.

“you got to get blood into the area. So whatever gave me a pump that’s what I would do,” Zane said. He stuck with his workouts for an hour and his regime was composed of three sets of all exercises, gradually sizing up his resistance. However, he always strived to achieve only one feeling at the end, the pump.
