“Think He’d Be Honest With Me”: Father of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Grandchildren, Chris Pratt Reacts to the Terminator’s Feedback on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

Last week, bodybuilding icon, Arnold Schwarzenegger took to his Twitter to share his feedback on the Hollywood star and son-in-law, Chris Pratt’s role in his latest feature, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. The fans are already aware of the tight bond the duo share as a family. Therefore, the athlete appreciating Pratt publicly simply brought them closer. 

Talking to ET, at the New York premiere of the film, the actor got candid about his father-in-law’s feedback on his iconic movie and claimed that if Schwarzenegger hadn’t genuinely liked the feature, he wouldn’t have posted about it on his social media.

The 43-year-old star was overjoyed with a tinge of bittersweet feelings, since this was the last volume of GOTG, per the source. A day ahead of its release, Pratt was humbled by his father-in-law’s gesture and expressed himself in an interview with the media. He also revealed the 75-year-old legend’s sweet nickname, Opa, a German word for ‘grandfather.’

“Isn’t that so nice? Arnold, Opa, Arnold we call him, he came to the premiere… “And yeah, he was so nice to give me love and support on his social media. He really liked the movie,” Pratt shared. He is assured that The Austrian Oak would never fake his praises, and thus, he was really impressed by his performance.

Hence, he added, “I think he’d be honest with me. If he didn’t like it, I don’t think he would post it.”  Schwarzenegger’s brief note of appreciation surfaced on 29 April, on Twitter. He wrote, “I saw #GuardiansOfTheGalaxyVol3  last night, and WOW. @prattprattpratt, you crushed it. A non-stop, perfect mix of comedy and action. I loved it and I’m very, very proud of you.” This effort left Pratt humbled with love and applause. By the same token, Pratt also once illustrated the IFBB pro’s grandfatherly presence.

In an interview with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show, Pratt revealed how the legendary athlete is a perfect grandfather to his three kids, Lyla, 2, Eloise, 10 months, and his 10-year-old son, Jack, whom he shares with his ex-wife, Anna Faris. Shedding light on his adorable household name, Pratt said, “He goes by Opa… you know he’s Austrian, in German, Opa is grandfather in German…”

Moreover, he spoke of him during a guest appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers too. “He’s a great grandfather, a great dad, and a good father-in-law and he’s got a wealth of experience,” the actor shared. He disclosed that he also looks up to Schwarzenegger as a Hollywood guardian, with reference to his experience in the industry and acting, and said, “who else are you gonna talk to about that kinda stuff? So that’s pretty cool.”
