Sharing a clip of American author and journalist Michael Pollan on Instagram, the USC Schwarzenegger Institute, led by Arnold Schwarzenegger, posted a clip where he talks about the effects of processed foods on one’s health. He also explained how it negatively contributes to the health crisis.
Arnold Schwarzenegger seems to agree with Pollan
Due to the former Governor’s past endeavors in the sport of bodybuilding, Arnold is well accustomed to the benefits of maintaining a healthy diet. However, most people in the United States are battling against obesity. In an attempt to improve this, Schwarzenegger and his team frequently talk about this issue and work towards changing it. Reposting a video originally posted by USC Price School, the Schwarzenegger Institute wrote on their Instagram story, “This is a public health crisis and it doesn’t get treated that way.” Continuing further, they also stated, “@michael.pollan and @food_fight_com are on the same page!”

The video saw Pollan talk about the harm that highly processed food can do to our bodies. He said, “Food that is highly processed will make you sicker than the same calorie, same nutrients if they’re cooked at all.” He further revealed his take on meat as well.
Michael Pollan gives insights into meat consumption
Despite consuming a lot of meat during his prime years, Arnold Schwarzenegger has almost turned into a vegan now due to his health problems. Pollan also revealed that even though nonvegetarian food provides a good amount of nutrition, it can also lead to obesity and type two diabetes.

The American author disclosed, “This is the distillation of everything I learned about food and nutrition, eat food, not too much, mostly plants.” He further pointed out, “There’s nothing evil about eating meat, it’s good nutritious food, but we eat too much of it unless you’re going to change this system. You’re not going to be able to tackle obesity and type two diabetes.”
