Few in the bodybuilding world would be unfamiliar with the name Craig Golias, aka ‘Goliath.’ The 350-pound bodybuilding champion’s personal goal of becoming as huge as possible led him to competitive and social media fame. The awe he generated with his pure muscle mass even earned him a role in the Generation Iron documentary BIGOREXIA. The World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) came calling to him too, but all he wanted to do was bulk up and become as huge as possible.

As a skinny teenager who just wanted to become ‘big’, the former competitive bodybuilder dedicated himself to building his size but now it seems he has achieved what he set out to do and is moving on to a new calling. The former musician and stripper is switching to a career few would associate with a bodybuilder.

Golias’ latest Instagram post gives an inside look at his new venture as a singer. Incidentally, this is not the first time he will flex his vocal cords. He has joined a death metal band uniquely connected to bodybuilding. The Austrian Death Machine, known for their music that pays tribute to Arnold Schwarzenegger and bodybuilding, has returned after almost a decade of hiatus. The Instagram post consists of an image and a video. The first slide shows Golias flexing his incredible muscles, while the second shows a video snippet of the song.

Golias is the new member joining their band for their new single, ‘No Pain, No Gain.’ He took to Instagram to share the news. He wrote, “The time has finally come guys! If you love metal-core music with lyrics about getting HUGE! check out @austriandeathmachineofficial! I’m doing vocals!”

He also thanked his well-wishers, saying, “Thank you to everyone who shows support! METAL AND MASS! And also to @the_dragons_lair for letting us shoot there!!! You guys rock.”  It seems like he is pretty happy and excited about his latest project. While this is an update on him rocking the stage as a lead singer, it is not the first time he has been introduced to the world of music. He previously talked about his childhood and career as a musician.

Craig Golias speaks about his connection to music

Born in California, Golias started weight training at an early age. He gave up his career as a stripper to become a full-time bodybuilder. Today, the once skinny teenager is truly unrecognizable, to say the least. Craig Golias is also a self-proclaimed metalhead, as he has been a part of the underground metal music circuit and once took on the microphone duties for his band. He used to be the long-haired metalhead kid before he started training. He said, “Before…I was a musician.” He added, “Once my last band broke up, that’s when I decided to move to California.”
