Spotting in the gym is extremely crucial, especially in the bodybuilding industry. This is because whenever a bodybuilder is doing a deadlift or a powerlift, they need support on all ends so that they do not get injured if the weights cannot be balanced anymore. However, if the spotter does not know their work properly, then that will also cause an additional issue. Veterans like Greg Doucette and Mike O’Hearn have always pointed out how important it is to be a good spotter because they can save lives and severe injuries.
Despite the regular warnings and the recent death of 33-year-old Justyn Vicky, there is a new video doing the rounds of the internet where a spotter has a bizarre technique of helping his gym partner. Fans were baffled by the video.

Bizarre spotting video takes netizens? attention
The reel video was uploaded by Generation Iron and the video is weird, to say the least. There is one man who is lying down on the bench press pad holding a long bar weight in his hands to do laying bench presses. However, he is not alone and there is another man who is standing right above his torso and locking him in place. The caption read, “Good spotter or nah?? “?

This spotter is holding the weights from above and helping him to the pullups, but in a very aggressive and dangerous way. It is almost like he is pushing the weights down harshly and not giving the other man enough time for a proper rep.
A good spotter is essential for a safe exercise day and the technique of being a spotter is not easy. It needs years of training and practice. However, in this video, the technique, execution, and force are all wrong for the pull-up exercise, and the spotter is hindering more than helping. Fans were appalled at the video and gave their verdict in the comments.
