Whenever an individual goes through a transformation, it requires a lot of determination on his part. A transformation cannot be possible without a strict diet and intense workout sessions. As Hardy was supposed to gain around 30 lbs for his role as ‘Bane’ in The Dark Knight Rises, he was supposed to eat in a caloric surplus. He discloses that for this, he did a ‘dirty bulk’ and ate a lot of pizza in the process.

Talking about the same, Hardy stated, “If we look closely, if we really study the photographs, I was really overweight, actually. I ate a lot, and you know, I was not much heavier than I am now, but I just ate more pizza.” Adding to this, Hardy revealed, “It took 3–4 months of training, and lifting and eating lots of pizza, and it wasn’t great for my heart… The point is to look as big as possible.”

However, Tom Hardy wasn’t the only one to transform himself for this movie. Another entity who made an astonishing transformation was none other than Christian Bale.
