Seven-time Mr. Olympia Arnold Schwarzenegger has seen it all when it comes to success. After creating a legacy in bodybuilding, ‘The Austrian Oak’s switch to Hollywood was smooth, as he quickly adapted to the norms of showbiz and established himself as a star. But Schwarzenegger is not the type of person to be satisfied easily. His other ventures include being an author, a businessman, and a politician. However, there is one thing that even ‘The Austrian Oak’ could not achieve.

After serving as the 38th Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger further showed interest in standing for the U.S. presidential elections. However, the Constitution does not allow a person who is not born in America to run for the role of President. Schwarzenegger had to make peace with this, which made him sad. However, recently, Schwarzenegger admitted that he would change the constitution if he could go back in time.

Arnold Schwarzenegger expresses his will to make things right

While the world is in anticipation of Schwarzenegger’s new book launch, which will take place on October 24th, Arnold sat down with renowned comedian and TV star Conan O’Brien for a podcast. Amidst many other topics they discussed, O’Brien suggested a scenario where Schwarzenegger could go back in time, as he did in his movie ‘Terminator.’

Conan stated, “I think when you first became governor, people said, well, they’re so excited they thought, ‘Could Arnold Schwarzenegger be president?’ It’s like, well, no, you need to be born in the United States, yeah? And that’s when we thought…time machine! We go back in time; you’re born in Maine, coastal Maine; we change…” Finishing O’Brien’s sentence, Schwarzenegger jokingly said, “We change…the constitution… He continued, “I mean when I talk about immigration reform, that’s what I’m talking about.”

Concluding the part, Schwarzenegger used the iconic ‘Terminator’ dialogue and added, “I told you I’ll be back.” While all this was just a joke from Arnold, the truth is that he has accepted the fact and moved on. However, he still believes that he would have made a good president.

Schwarzenegger believes he has what it takes to run the country

As part of his book promotion events, Schwarzenegger recently participated in a podcast with Howard Stern as well. When the topic of Arnold’s earlier desire to become President came up, Stern inquired if this was frustrating for Arnold or not. Schwarzenegger disclosed, “It really wasn’t.” The 76-year-old fitness icon couldn’t “complain” about his misfortune. “I felt kind of like everything that I’ve accomplished in my life… all because of America,” Arnie said.
