To the unversed the eldest of Arnold Schwarzenegger and ex-wife Maria Shriver, Katherine Schwarzenegger is married to Parks and Recreation actor Chris Pratt. The father-in-law and son-in-law share a warm bond and they often reflect it to the public. Earlier while promoting his TV Series, FUBAR, Arnie praised the Guardians of the Galaxy actor for his Chess game tactics.

Now, in an interview with GQ, the son-in-law shares an interesting episode with The Austrian Oak. The Terminator star’s enthusiasm for watches is not unknown. But Pratt managed to impress the Predator icon with his choice of wristwatch brand once.

Chris Pratt received a compliment from Arnold Schwarzenegger once

The 43-year-old expressed his fondness for Panerai in the interview and recalled an instance when his father-in-law noticed him wearing one. ‘Whoa, Panerai! It’s a beautiful watch, Chris,” exclaimed the Governator, per GQ.  “I was like, “Oh my God, thanks, Arnold,” Pratt recalled.

In the interview, The Terminal List actor further opened up about his assumption of Arnie’s influence on his wedding gift. Katherine gifted Pratt a Rolex Daytona on their wedding day. “And my guess is she talked to her dad,” he opined. But what made the wedding gift more special is that it is engraved.

Chris Pratt has a collection of incredible watches. His first Panerai watch was a silver Luminor with a brown strap. The latest in his collection is the New York Luminor BiTempo which is a limited edition. He also has a black strapped gold Luminor. The Commando star and his son-in-law share a common interest apart from the watch collection. 

The duo’s love for chess

Earlier, Pratt revealed that he is the loser in the chess matches with his father-in-law, Arnold Schwarzenegger. During one of the interviews promoting FUBAR, The Pumping Iron star backed his son-in-law’s abilities by stating, “I think he’s extraordinary,” at the game.

The 75-year-old went on to praise Pratt for his focus and learning speed. He further added that The Magnificent Seven actor is a newbie and the matches between them aren’t a fair competition.
