In recent times, through his newsletter, Schwarzenegger has taken to helping out people for a healthier and fitter lifestyle. His newsletter, therefore, has gone on to become a regular for many of those looking to make it in bodybuilding.

In an edition of Arnold’s Pump Club, the former California governor took to address a problem that has daunted fitness freaks for ages. Schwarzenegger answered a fan’s question about whether more reps or higher weights were important during training. Let us see what the Austrian Oak thinks about this dilemma.

Arnold recommends both for strength and muscular endurance

According to the bodybuilding legend, reps and higher weights are equally important. “We want muscular strength and muscular endurance,” he wrote to the fan who asked the question.

“When I give you an exercise that starts out at 15 reps every week, I do not mean for you to do the same weight for 15 reps every week,” Schwarzenegger added. The bodybuilding legend said he wanted this weight to go up.

Arnie also stated that he was looking for progress at all rep ranges. “I do not want you staying the same every week,” the Terminator star implored.

According to Schwarzenegger, giving “1% more” was essential. “Give me 1% more. Eventually, you’ll be shocked how it builds,” he wrote.

Arnie’s first tip had to do with something that many fitness enthusiasts skip: warming up before every exercise. The legend believes this is important as it helps warm up the blood in your muscles. In his second tip, the Greek God of Hollywood asked fitness enthusiasts to keep their heads up and chests out while using the rear delt fly machine.

In his final tip, Schwarzenegger called for using the full range of motion during machine exercises. According to him, a complete full range of motion is achieved only when he hears the “clinking” of the weight stack.
