43-Year-Old Manny Pacquiao Flirting with Pro Boxing Return

Boxing legend Manny Pacquiao retired from professional boxing back in 2021 after his loss against Yordenis Ugas. However, Pac-Man has given exhibition fights a real thought following his retirement. Pacquiao’s longevity is a true testament to his will as he is now 43 years old, but is still in great physical condition.
Moreover, he is set to compete in another exhibition match in December against Korean martial artist D.K. Yoomay. On the surface, this might seem like another exhibition match for the 8-division champ. However, in a press conference leading up to the fight, Pacquiao revealed that the outcome of this match would decide his future in the sport. He stated that this fight will be the beginning of his comeback mission at 43 years old. “This match is going to be the mission for my comeback. It depends. We will see the result on December 11,” he said.

Manny Pacquiao’s Wife Spotted Wearing Nearly $600,000 Worth Rolex During Floyd Mayweather’s $20 Million Fight
Although he was very vague, Pacquiao might just be eyeing a return to professional boxing. For any other fighter, this might seem like a crazy thought. However, the Filipino legend might be the only one who could pull it off. Pacquiao made his debut back in 1995 and has competed in 72 bouts in his 26-year career. He retired with a record of 62-8-2 and is the only boxer in history to win titles in 8 different weight divisions.
Floyd Mayweather takes digs at Manny Pacquiao and rules out a rematch
Although Mayweather and Pacquiao might not have competed during their primes, the rivalry between them will always be a historic one. However, Mayweather might not be open to a rematch with the 8-division champ. In the pre-fight press conference before his match against Mikuru Asakura, ‘Money’ took some digs at Pacquiao.
He stated that Pacquiao’s aggressive hard-hitting style forced him to retire early. He then claimed that if he were Pacquiao, he would certainly be chasing an exhibition bout. “Manny had a great career, but boxing retired Manny, Manny didn’t retire from boxing. There’s a difference. Of course, if I were Manny Pacquiao, would I be chasing an exhibition with Floyd Mayweather to get a payday? Absolutely I would.” said Mayweather. The two legends were the defining faces of boxing for the better part of two decades. Even after retiring from the sport, the two have taken a similar path to compete in exhibitions. However, we just might get to see the two compete in an exhibition in the future.
