Eddie Hearn ranks among the biggest boxing promoters of this generation. He has some of the biggest prospects in boxing at present in the form of Anthony Joshua, Billy Joe Saunders, Canelo Alvarez, and more. But recently, WBC heavyweight champ Tyson Fury was left unimpressed by Eddie Hearn and Matchroom boxing at a particular juncture.
In a video released by Fight Hype, Tyson Fury is seen criticizing Hearn for not promoting Billy Joe Saunders the way he does Canelo Alvarez.
Fury said, “I think Matchroom Boxing and Eddie Hearn are absolute w*nkers. They’re up Canelo Alvarez’s run piece. A million miles. Look on the f***in web page, all Canelo Canelo. Do you promote Billy Joe?”

Eddie Hearn signed Canelo Alvarez recently for a two-fight deal. This contract will end with Canelo Alvarez taking on Billy Joe Saunders on May 8. Matchroom Boxing has begun heavy promotions for this fight already as it’s a prolific title unification fight.
However, ‘The Gypsy King’ feels that Hearn and Matchroom boxing aren’t really marketing this fight on Saunders’ name and Canelo is getting all the attention.
Fury shares a slight rift with Hearn for a long time, especially since the talks of a matchup between him and Anthony Joshua gained credence. That said, Fury got another opportunity to paint shots at Hearn as the latter shares a great relationship with Billy Joe Saunders.
Despite all this, ‘Superb’ has his priorities set for May 8 and won’t look to budge an inch from the same.
Can Billy Joe Saunders prove his worth against Canelo Alvarez?
The undefeated Saunders will take the toughest of his boxing career by going up against Canelo Alvarez. Until now, the Brit has dispatched every opponent he’s faced. But a fight against the Mexican boxer is a different ballgame altogether.
