Andy Ruiz Jr. became the first Mexican to boast of the heavyweight titles as he vanquished Anthony Joshua via TKO in their first battle. However, he lost the titles in the rematch and has been inactive since then.
Following the defeat, Ruiz Jr. claimed to have learned a lot and doesn’t intend to repeat the same mistakes ahead. Although he is not eligible to demand a title shot at this point, he can rightfully do so in the future. That said, Ruiz Jr. has opened up on all his learnings from that loss.
In interaction with Fighter’s voice, ‘The Destroyer’ labeled a few parameters that he would always follow on his boxing journey.

“Not taking anything for granted you know and working hard when you have something, try so hard not to let it go and just never stop believing in yourself. But yeah, when you have something to hold on to it as long as you can and I feel that’s what I did wrong,” said Andy Ruiz Jr.

Meanwhile, Ruiz Jr. has changed his training camp and is currently at Eddy Reynoso’s stable alongside several other champions in Canelo Alvarez, Ryan Garcia, and Oscar Valdez. Apart from his boxing regime, the Mexican heavyweight is also looking after his physical get-up and has shed some valuable pounds.
