Andy Ruiz Jr, only one of two men to beat British heavyweight Anthony Joshua spoke about the Usyk fight. Ruiz successfully underwent knee surgery for a torn meniscus and looks to make a comeback into the ring.
‘The Destroyer’ Andy Ruiz Jr. watched the Joshua vs Usyk fight and did not expect Usyk to win. “Every fighter has got to take responsibility for themselves. It was probably the wrong strategy, and he [Joshua] probably underestimated him like I did with Chris Arreola. But we both got caught, but thank God, I pursued and got the W. I think Anthony Joshua is still there and still strong.”

“He kind of felt scared and was holding back a little bit. Maybe it was the lefty of Usyk of his style and how he moves. I thought they both could have done better, but congratulations to Usyk.” Ruiz said.
Ruiz was the first fighter to beat Anthony Joshua and spoil his perfect record. Anthony ‘AJ’ Joshua avenged his loss shortly after, but what Ruiz did was nothing short of spectacular. The Mexican stunned the entire boxing community when he knocked Joshua out and became the heavyweight champion of the world.

‘The Destroyer will look to make a comeback before the end of this year. The two opponents that Ruiz has in mind are Charles Martin and Luis Ortiz. Ruiz will want the fight to be scheduled in December so he has enough time to recover from his knee surgery.
His rumored opponents are formidable heavyweights. Ortiz has tasted defeat only at the hands of former champion Deontay ‘The Bronze Bomber’ Wilder. Martin, on the other hand, is a former champion.
