Notably, when Haney and Kambosos were en route to finalize their battle, the name of the two-time Olympic Gold medalist Lomachenko was also surfacing. He was keen on bringing fight on Kambosos in Australia. However, he could not get the opportunity.

But as of now, his promoter Arum has resolved the whole situation. He has announced that he wanted to produce a matchup between Haney and Loma to give an opportunity to his fighter to get back his lightweight titles.

Earlier, Loma had held unified WBA (Super), WBC, WBO, and The Ring magazine lightweight titles from 2018 to 2020.
