Canelo Alvarez ranks among the greatest pugilists to ever step inside the boxing ring. In his illustrious boxing run, the Mexican has overpowered every opponent he’s faced. Moreover, he is the pound for pound king of the modern boxing era, looking to cement his reign for many more years to come.

He has an eye-catchy boxing record at both amateurs and professional levels. That said, here we look at both of his boxing stints.

Right since he was 13, Alvarez got captivated towards this side of the combat sports vertical. Ever since then, he hasn’t stopped nor he looked back. He elevated his love for the sport by turning into an amateur boxer. He showcased an exemplary run here, thus exhibiting a track record of 44 (12 T/KO)-2.

But Saul Alvarez knew that he was destined for more and citing that he turned a pro-boxer in 2005. In his first fight, the 30-year-old annihilated Abraham Gonzalez and scored a fourth round T/KO win.

This was just the begging as he kept on adding constant wins to his resume. In 2008, he bagged a WBA Fedecentro title shot and emerged victorious in the same. Moving further, he transitioned to multiple weight classes and proved his mettle in every fight.

In fact, his first professional loss came in 2013, when he battled ‘TBE’ Floyd Mayweather. Until today, this is the only spot in the Jalisco native’s boxing career.

Despite scoring a loss to Floyd Mayweather, Alvarez didn’t stop there. In fact, this loss fueled him up and made him an even terrifying version of himself. As of now, he holds a pro-boxing track record of 55-1-2 and is only looking to improve from hereon.

With the prowess and magnetic aura he brings in for all of his fights, needless to say, Canelo is the fresh face of the modern boxing era.

He still shows no signs of slowing down as he’s hungry to etch his name in the history books as the best boxer of this generation.
