Canelo Alvarez Reveals the Real Reason Why He Doesn’t Stay Much in Mexico

Canelo Alvarez is a magnetic boxing prospect. With his countless skill sets and astonishing ring management abilities, the Mexican boxer has struck every boxing fan’s eye. Moreover, a majority of his fights are held in the USA, and he also predominantly stays here. Also, with time he’s turned into a local boy. But why doesn’t he stay much in Mexico?
Recently, in an interaction with Graham Bensinger, Alvarez gave his take on the same. He said, “Well, I have security here because of people who can be greedy, those who steal at stop lights. There’s a lot of insecurity, too much insecurity. This is why I’m not here in Mexico much anymore, because it’s not safe.”
Ever since Canelo kicked off his pro-boxing career, he has traveled from Mexico to the USA frequently. He even has bought a house in the United States and stays here during his fights.

In 2018, the 30-year-old was all set to confront Rocky Fielding. But ahead of that, his brother got kidnapped. Talking about it with Graham Bensinger, he said, “2018, Monday before the fight. I was informed.

Despite Alvarez involved in the fight promotions and interviews, he didn’t let anyone know about the same. He believes a majority of the audience feels that fighters’ lives are easy. But that’s not the case.
He asserted that there are many hardships a fighter has to go through. But overcoming all of it, Alvarez proved his mettle every time he stepped inside the ring.
