Canelo Alvarez Still Wants a Piece of Oleksandr Usyk: “It’s Difficult, But I Don’t Care”

On 20th August inside the Jeddah Superdome, Jeddah, Oleksandr Usyk beat Anthony Joshua for the second time. There were four titles on the line and likewise, the build-up was huge. And since a significant group of fans expected a Tyson Fury comeback following the end of the second Joshua vs. Usyk fight, the battle inside Jeddah added flames. Apart from Usyk vs. Joshua and Fury’s possible return to boxing, Canelo Alvarez vs. Gennady Golovkin III is another event that has kept fans glued to their seats, held by seatbelts.

On September 17, Alvarez and GGG will lock horns for the third and final time. Four titles, namely, the IBF World Super Middle, the WBA Super World Super Middle, the WBC World Super Middle, and the WBO World Super Middle title, will be on the line.

Ahead of his bout with GGG, Alvarez, in a statement, expressed his willingness to fight the current two-weight category world champion Oleksandr Usyk. Alvarez, as reported by TalkSport said, “It’s difficult, but I don’t care. I like that kind of challenge. It’s gonna be difficult, I know, but I love boxing. I love being in that kind of situation.”

On September 17, Canelo Alvarez will have a final showdown against Gennady Golovkin. The first bout was in 2017 and it ended in a draw. The second fight was just a year later and Alvarez snatched his win. In the month of May this year, Alvarez first expressed his desire to fight Usyk. Alvarez, over and over again, demonstrated his will to put himself in a hard place and try his skills out.

According to a report by ESPN, Alvarez fancied a fight with Usyk at a 201-pound catchweight. The Mexican phenom then had said, “I like it… Why not?… I’ll fight everyone. I don’t f—ing care.”
