Fleets of luxury cars, diamond-studded jewelry, mansions, and whatnot, if someone can think of it, Floyd Mayweather has it. There is a reason he is called ‘Money’ Mayweather, and he is not shy about showing it off. Remember when the 50-0 record holder flaunted piles of cash while being covered in gold on an Instagram post from 2019?
That’s the kind of thing Mayweather is known for. His love for opulence and grandiose displays of luxury knows no bounds. But in a recent turn of events, he was seen riding a bike near Miami Beach. Not the one with the engine but the one with pedals. Surprising?
Things get even more interesting since Mayweather showed up to Lionel Messi’s soccer match on Wednesday, in true ‘Money’ Mayweather fashion. His wrist featured a whopping $18 million watch from Jacob & Co., stealing the spotlight from Messi. He wasn’t there alone. Cameras captured him with the Baseball Hall of Famer Ken Jeffrey Jr. But the question remains. Why was he riding the bike days after flaunting his wealth during the soccer match? Was it to make a statement or something else?

A switch in personality: Floyd Mayweather spotted on a bike
Days after his extravagant appearance during the soccer match, ‘Money’ took a hiatus from a large display of luxury. In a chance encounter, fans spotted the undefeated boxer in plain clothes riding his bike in the streets of Miami Beach. The fan said, “So that’s literally Floyd Mayweather Riding his bike in Miami Beach.” He was clearly excited about spotting the champ randomly. So, he asked, “How Funny would it be if it’s him? And it literally is him.” In response, his partner said, “That’s amazing. Because we saw the van that said TMT. F**k Yeah!”
Given his last stunt during the soccer match, the bike ride gives a contrasting image of Floyd’s personality. ‘Pretty Boy’ during the soccer game, likes to appreciate all the luxuries money can buy. Whereas “the Floyd” on the streets is a much simpler human being, aching to cherish the simpler things in life.

A softer side of ‘Money’ Mayweather
Talking about the softer side of Mayweather, the contrast in personality should not come as a surprise either. As a well-known figure across the globe, he has been part of several philanthropic efforts. In a recent update from TMZ Sports, Mayweather is involved in disaster relief in Maui. He was said to provide food, clothes, and a place to stay for over 70 people affected by the disaster.
Besides Maui, he has also been part of several other humanitarian efforts in the past. Whether it’s donations to charities or disaster relief, he has done as much for people as anyone else. But this fact often gets masked due to his persona in front of the camera. Not to mention, Mayweather Promotions has provided excellent boxers to the community. Gervonta Davis is a perfect example of that fact.

If not anything else, Mayweather’s shift in personas indicates the multifaceted nature of his personality. His tendency to show off his wealth is balanced by his compassion towards people in need. What’s your take on the two sides of Mayweather?
