A few weeks ago, Salt Papi called out Slim for a boxing bout. Papi last fought against Anthony Taylor on the ‘MISFITS 007’ card. Taylor would end up handing Papi his first-ever defeat. Moreover, Papi is itching to get back in the ring and in the win column. However, their weight disparity is staggering. In an interview, he called out Slim to face him at a mutual weight.

Moreover, according to a tweet by KSI, Slim demanded Papi face him at 165 lbs. Thereafter, Papi assented but did not hear from Slim again. Amidst this fiasco, it appears Slim is not interested to face Papi. In a recent interview, Papi discusses the failure of the bout coming to fruition and what excited him to face Slim in the first place.

Why did Salt Papi call out Slim?

Slim is one of the veterans in the realm of influencer boxing and has more experience than Papi. Since the commencement of Papi’s career, he set his eyes on Slim. After witnessing Slim’s lack of interest in facing him, Papi questions if the bout will take place. In an interview with Fred Talks Fighting, he stated, “I always wanted to fight Slim. From the very beginning, like Slim is my guy, like I thought he was gonna accept the fight, but like you cannot really force someone to fight if you don’t want to.”

However, he does not shut down the possibility of it taking place. In the same interview, he adds that he wants Slim to show interest and have the bout come to fruition. He added, “He knows his worth and yea maybe one day we can make the fight happen. I don’t know it depends on him.”

Who else does Salt Papi want to fight?

Prior to his last bout, Papi showed his interest in facing one of the best influencer boxers. He mentioned the names of KSI, Jake Paul, and even Tommy Fury. In an interview, he stated, “I’m gonna go for KSI, Jake Paul, Tommy Fury Whoever next.”
