Demetrius Andrade Accuses Canelo Alvarez and Jermall Charlo of Ducking Him

The WBO middleweight champion, Demetrius Andrade, has stayed out of action since his last title defense. ‘Boo Boo’ stepped inside the ring a year back, finishing Luke Keeler with a T/KO. He is currently unaligned with any opponent. But, he has expressed his keenness in fighting a few top-graded boxers like Canelo Alvarez and Jermall Charlo.
However, both Alvarez and Charlo haven’t quite shown their interest in taking up a fight against him. Andrade was in an interview alongside Max Kellerman, wherein he shed some light on offering fights to the duo.
He said, “Yo Max Kellerman, Demetrius Andrade, listen. Anybody’s name that starts with C and ends with O, that’s Charlo, Canelo. Charlo, we offered him a $7 million fight; he turned it down. Canelo there’s a $5 million war, you want to fight Kovalev instead of unifying the division at 160 pounds.”

Andrade, 32, is undefeated in his professional boxing run. He bagged the WBO middleweight title in 2018, and since then he’s successfully defended it in all his bouts. The Providence native has been hunting for a rugged contender for a substantial time to go after in his next fight.
‘Boo Boo’ made a creative call-out to his combatants. He even unveiled the amount offered to both Canelo and Charlo.
The American boxer particularly emphasized a Canelo Alvarez fight. However, Canelo has moved up a weight class and is aiming to become the undisputed champion at 168-pounds.

Can Demetrius Andrade crack a bout with Canelo Alvarez for 2021?
The pound-for-pound king of boxing, Canelo Alvarez, put on a clinic against Callum Smith in December. He is lined up to face Avni Yildirim for his super-middleweight title defense in February. Based on his goals, if he retains, he will look to fight the WBO super-middleweight champion, Billy Joe Saunders.
With his current strides in boxing, his return to the 160-pound division seems out of the picture for the time being. That said, Demetrius Andrade will have to bide his time at middleweight or move up to super middleweight to challenge Alvarez.
