Former WBC champion Deontay Wilder has received a shot at his lost crown against Tyson Fury in a trilogy that could see him upset the odds and reclaim the division. The duo will box on July 24 in Las Vegas.
This comes after ‘The Bronze Bomber’ accused the current WBC champion of trying to avoid him over the past few months. In a chat with 78SPORTSTV, Wilder exclusively addressed the scenario and talked about the failed Fury v Joshua fight.

“I mean, you know, of course. I would look at it as a coward way of trying to move, trying to avoid me, you know, for what reason? You know, we know the reason he know the reasoning. But let him exist to the to the fans as watching right?” said Deontay Wilder.
He added, “I just want to be in a sport where I say I’m the best, they say the best. And the best want to fight the best. No matter what not turning the best, go around and try to fight the opposition will hire money. That’s robbing the fans. That’s robbing the people. I don’t want to rob the people.”

While Wilder is eager to face Fury for one last time, he will have to contend with a lengthy spell of inactivity. He will also have to banish the demons of his previous performance.
