It’s common knowledge that Tyson Fury is named after the iconic Mike Tyson. However, in Fury’s upcoming fight with Francis Ngannou, ‘Iron’ Mike is not in his corner. Instead, Mike is training his opponent, Francis Ngannou. This rather coincidental fact did not sit well with Fury’s father, John Fury. So, he branded the former heavyweight champion a traitor for joining the opponent’s corner.
Surprisingly, the ‘Gypsy King’ himself seems happy about Mike’s involvement in the highly anticipated fight on 28 October. While appearing in an interview with Shak MMA, Fury expressed his happiness with having Mike, the living legend, near the boxing ring.

Tyson Fury claims Mike Tyson did a great job promoting Francis Ngannou
During Fury’s appearance in the interview, the reporter questioned Fury about his thoughts on seeing Mike, his namesake in the opposition’s team. Fury promptly responded by stating that he was extremely happy to see him as a part of the event. He even complimented the former boxer for training and promoting Francis Ngannou. “It’s very good for Mike to be a part of this promotion. He’s done a good job promoting Francis. And what a pleasure to have a living legend because that’s what I believe Mike Tyson is,” said Fury.
Later in the interview, Fury claimed he is excited about having Mike in the same ring as him on Saturday night. “So to have a living legend in the same boxing ring as me on the night, that’s fantastic,” said Fury.
