Boxing legends Oscar De La Hoya and Floyd Mayweather Jr. were two of the greatest boxers of their generation. The two former champions held titles in multiple divisions with ‘Golden Boy’ being a six-division world champion and ‘Money’ Mayweather being a five-division champion. This naturally led to the argument about who was the better boxer among the two legends, a debate which has raged on for quite some time.

However, the question of who was better was answered back in 2007 when the two met in the ring for the first and only time. Mayweather would go on to win via a close split decision and turned himself into a global superstar from this fight. Despite this, many felt that De La Hoya could have won the fight, and with no rematch between them ever taking place many thought that ‘Golden Boy’ could beat Mayweather in his prime.

Moreover, he also added that the bout would be conducted at 147 pounds. A staggering 68% of people chose Mayweather to beat him in a match. However, the fans in the comments section pointed out why the six-division champion could beat Mayweather in his prime.

Despite De La Hoya Losing the poll, the fans came out in his defense and did make some valid points.
