Dillian Whyte, the British heavyweight boxer, has been a prime ambassador of the division since his inception into the sport of boxing. Hailing from England, Whyte represents the country that has seen several elites come up inside the squared circle. Meanwhile, Dillian Whyte has also transitioned himself into a veteran with his sheer dominance.
Boasting 27 wins alongside just 2 losses, Whyte is one of the hardest hitters on the roster. His knockout ability has earned him several accolades, including the nickname of ‘The Body Snatcher’. There’s a unique tale on how Dillian Whyte put his hands on the tag and billed it as his official nickname to the fans.
In interaction with BBC, the former WBC Interim heavyweight champion opened up on how fans gave him the name and why exactly he picked up ‘Body Snatcher’ to replicate Whyte.

“The fans, they actually gave me the name ‘Body Snatcher’ because my name was different before the fans gave me. The name Dillian ‘Body Snatcher’ Whyte. Oh cool, I like it. I see it did make sense because I am an aggressive body puncher: You know I like to finish combinations on the body. One of the few heavyweights attack the body on a regular basis,” said the heavyweight stalwart.
However, ‘The Body Snatcher’ didn’t have a successful night on his last appearance, losing his chance to challenge WBC champion, Tyson Fury, for the title ahead. He lost his Interim crown to Alexander Povetkin in a shocking loss. However, the rematch is lined up and Whyte can possibly regain his spot to challenge for the belt.

The rematch will see the WBC Interim go up on the line again. So, the winner will finally be mandatory to Fury’s WBC title. And in the future, he can expect to face the winner of Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua.
Meanwhile, it will also be a chance for Whyte to avenge his horrific loss against Povetkin. While Whyte was dominating his Russian opponent, one uppercut proved too costly in the fifth round. A KO elite in Whyte got knocked in the fight, and the rematch will give him the chance to turn the tables.
