Eddie Hearn Reveals Whether Anthony Joshua Has Split From Longtime Trainer – Rob McCracken

Anthony Joshua capitulated to his second pro-boxing loss to Oleksandr Usyk last month. The Brit was an undeniable favorite to win this fight. However, he couldn’t execute his plans or even land one haymaker on Usyk. As a result, Joshua, and his trainer, Rob McCracken, received immense backlash from fans around the globe.
Many believe it’s high time for the Brit to part ways with his long-time trainer and rope in someone new. That said, over the past few days, Joshua took a stroll in a few of America’s biggest boxing gyms to meet the hotshot coaches. ‘AJ‘ met Eddy Reynoso, and he even worked with Ronnie Shields in the gym later.

The former champ’s recent activities intrigued the fans. Hence, everyone was keen to know whether Joshua and McCracken had finally split.
Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, in a chat with iFL TV, revealed the scenario between ‘AJ’ and McCracken. He said, “He went to see a numbers of gyms, fighters and trainers. He hasn’t split from Rob McCracken, hasn’t decided he’s gonna join another trainer – he’s just trying to learn… There’s absolutely no definitive mindset or answer.” (h/t Michael Benson)
Right after this devastating loss, the only thing Joshua had in mind was to meet Usyk once again inside the squared circle to settle his scores. He has triggered his contractual rematch, and this is expected to go on floors in 2022.

‘The Cat‘ adopted the strategy of hitting and not getting hit in return against Anthony Joshua. On top of that, he moved like a lightweight and stayed out of ‘AJ’s range. Citing that, if the Brit wants to beat his Ukrainian foe, he’ll have to adopt a similar game plan and increase his own agility.
‘AJ’ ironed out his shortcomings against Andy Ruiz Jr. Hence, he has every ability to do the same against Usyk. However, this time he’ll have to be even more proactive if he wants to come out with a win.
