In a brief span of time, Jake Paul has achieved milestones that even the biggest pro boxers struggle with. So far, he has fought other YouTube stars, an NBA athlete, and a retired mixed martial artist.

In his pursuit to switch the narrative of him avoiding the tougher fights, the 24-year-old has signed up to face his biggest challenge yet. On August 30th, Jake Paul is scheduled to fight former UFC welterweight champion and knockout artist, Tyron Woodley, at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland Ohio.

Ahead of his fight in August, Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley have had two press conferences. In both events, the Ohio native conveyed a sharp threat to his opponent during their face-offs –

I was like, ‘Hey man, you know, enjoy this while you can, suck everything out of this, get as many sponsorships, because this is your last payday and August 30th, which is the day after our fight, no one’s ever going to talk about you again’,” said Jake Paul in a recent interview.

Jake Paul vs Tyron Woodley- Fight Preview

Tyron Woodley is unlike anyone Jake Paul has faced before. His knockout record and highlight-reels inside the octagon prove he is one of the best strikers in MMA. However, there are areas where Paul could outsmart his opponent.

Joe Rogan framed it best by saying that Tyron Woodley is a phenomenal striker and can knock people out with one right punch, but he has never displayed traditional pro boxer style striking.

In the UFC, Woodley often threw damaging haymakers and followed it up with a clinch or grappled instantly after destabilizing his opponent.

However, in boxing, he cannot replicate that style of striking because it will give Paul enough room to clip him as he moves in to clinch.

Rogan added that Jake Paul knows the right movements as he successfully dropped Nate Robinson while moving on his back foot. After dropping Ben Askren, ‘The Problem Child’ made it clear to everyone that he has great knockout power as well.

This being the 24-year-old’s toughest fight yet, he will have to be on top of his defense and footwork and will have to be on a constant lookout for the right openings to crack his opponent.

Tyron Woodley wants to prove a point inside the ring and he understands that Jake Paul is not an easy opponent. Even ‘The Problem Child’ has acknowledged his opponent’s vicious power and striking abilities.

It will be interesting to see if the fighters will drag each other into deeper waters during the later rounds or if both will try to finish each other right from the get-go.
