Eric “Butterbean” Esch Says He Would Have Knocked Mike Tyson Out

Despite being a knockout artist in his prime, Mike Tyson has fallen victim to KOs several times inside the ring. It has left a blueprint for several people to craft their plans to finish Tyson. However, they will never get a chance to test it out.
Eric ‘Butterbean’ Esch, who had planned to showcase a top-tier performance against Mike Tyson, is one of those people who may never receive a shot at ‘The Baddest Man On The Planet.’ Following Tyson’s return to action in an exhibition against Roy Jones Jr. in 2020, many legends called him out.

From Shannon Briggs to Evander Holyfield and Eric Esch, the list goes on. Meanwhile, ‘Butterbean’ almost bagged the chance until the promoters took away their interest from him. Now, in a conversation with Fred Talk Fighting, Esch revealed what a fight between him and Tyson would have looked like.
Tyson Fury Admits He’s Trying to Avoid Fighting a ‘Volunteer’
‘Butterbean’ said, “I think it would have been a quick knockout. I mean, because he would have to come to fight, I would have to come to fight. And I have never been knocked out, he [Mike Tyson] has.”
It might be a bit bizarre to picture ‘Butterbean’ knocking out ‘Iron’. In a career of over almost two decades, Eric Esch amassed a 77-10-4 record with 58 KOs under his name. Despite this impressive number, Esch looks like an underdog before the vicious Mike Tyson.

Will we see Mike Tyson in the ring again?
After a commendable performance against Roy Jones Jr. in 2020, Tyson had vowed to accept a few more bouts. It touted him to go against umpteen names, including his former rival Evander Holyfield. However, nothing is confirmed as of now and Mike Tyson is still an inactive legend of the sport. He was rumored to face Logan Paul a few weeks back.
The high-voltage fight grabbed sheer attention, but nothing has been declared official as of yet. Hence, in an official sense, his return to the ring is still up in the air.
