Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather is no stranger to the limelight. Apart from his fighting prowess, he is known for spending outrageous amounts of money on luxury cars, expensive clothes, and jewelry. With an estimated net worth of $450 million, Mayweather doesn’t shy away from boasting about his expensive purchases.

However, his flamboyance has cost him in many situations. Most recently, volunteers of renowned NGO People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, better known as PETA, ripped on Money for purchasing an $18,000 mink car seat he got for his grandson’s 2022 Rolls-Royce Cullinan, made with real fur and customized for his grandson.
PETA calls out Mayweather
In a story bought by news outlet TMZ, PETA reportedly took shots at Mayweather for this purchase referring to it as a ‘monstrosity’ and also bringing up his arrest for domestic violence back in 2010.”Did Floyd Mayweather, who has a history of assault and battery of defenseless victims, really seek to update it by supporting an industry that throttles animals to death in addition to poisoning and electrocuting them?” PETA wrote in a statement.
Further, the NGO also claimed that Mayweather is not a role model and accused him of ‘corrupting minors’.”This man is hardly a role model for compassion and understanding, but to try to make cruelty look attractive to a child could earn him a medal for corrupting the natural kindness of a minor,” they added.
However, the organization offered Mayweather to fix this and asked him to replace the fur coat.” PETA is calling on Mayweather to take a jab at teaching kindness, not cruelty. By replacing this monstrosity with faux fur, as most designers, department stores, and consumers have — and PETA would be happy to provide it,” said Peta.
Notably, Mayweather is yet to respond to Peta’s comments and request.

Floyd Mayweather vs PETA
Mayweather is yet to lose to an opponent in the boxing ring, but PETA is a foe that he has not been able to overcome. This is not the first time that the NGO has come at Mayweather, and given Money’s interest in animal skins and clothing it is not surprising.

Back in 2012, the organization went after him for making comments on his training being similar to ‘dogfighting’ but Mayweather responded by stating he didn’t care.
