After taking retirement from the sport in 2017 with a perfect 50-0, ‘The Pretty Boy‘ engaged in landing the exhibition showdowns around the world. These showdowns are like title contests in many ways, but they are meant especially to entertain combat sport fans and earn money, which Mayweather is doing well.
Last week, Mayweather’s team made it official that the five weight division former champ is again taking himself to the ring for the third time. After this announcement, a press conference was held to promote the event.
Reports claim that Mayweather made hefty some by just attaining the conference.
FightHype.com reported, “@FloydMayweather third exhibition of the year is set for November in Dubai. He’s made a lucrative career out of these exhibitions since retiring. Just to show up at a press conference, he paid $300K. Sheesh! Minimum, another 8-figure payday is expected.”
There is no doubt. Mayweather can make such a sum as he is a genius when it comes to selling a fight. There is no one who could deny that Mayweather is the most intelligent boxers of all times, when it comes to making money. Surprisingly, his exhibitions made more money than the title clashes of modern day boxing.
