Catalan, on the other hand, began by saying, “I studied film on Floyd for a long time. You know watching him on TV. So I was excited to implement some of the things I had in my mind. To be able to deal with it. And you know I’m happy to say that some of it worked.”
When asked how they adapted, Catalan mentioned that they eliminated some of the tactics that Mayweather used. Thereby forcing Mayweather to change as well. He further added, “I like the tactical warfare that goes inside there. And tryna instill different tactics in my fighters to be able to execute while they’re in there, against their opponent, doesn’t matter who it is.”
Catalan also added that he also told his students that Mayweather was a shadow of his former self.
