He ended up a bronze medalist during the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. After that, however, Floyd Mayweather Jr. knew he would turn the professional world upside down. The journey he commenced lasted for the next decades. Not for once did he face an opponent who could send him to the canvas. Instead, ESPN’s pound-for-pound best boxer of the last twenty-five years stayed at the top of the business because of qualities that most fighters either lacked or possessed in limited supply.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. often gets criticized for a defensive approach inside the ring. But, of course, barring probably an exception like Gullermo Rigondeux, Mayweather Jr. stands out as the most formidable boxer to hit.
