“A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” Protected by the Second Amendment to the United States constitution, the right to bear and keep arms is recognized as a fundamental right. It protects the individual’s right to defend her/himself from danger within and outside the home.

The choice theory from the Hohfeldian model asserts rights should be exercised only by beings who are rational and capable of choice. Although the theory generally refers to human beings, considering humans can have an irrational state of mind, it is imperative that the state reconstruct certain rights for the well-being of all.

In a recent episode of Impaulsive, host Logan Paul offered his views on gun control and the regulating constitution of America.

Logan Paul addresses the current problem in America

Lately, Paul expressed his desire to run for President of the United States of America. However, since Paul is at present 27, he would have to wait till 2032 in order to become legally eligible. Observing how frequently the gun control law has backfired in the United States, the following is what Paul told:

“We are at a point right now, America, where it is very hard to reverse engineer a problem that has been hundreds of years in the making. The other issue is the constitution is such a strong document to form a foundation for a country that exhibits amazing freedom and rights for the people that live there.”

“But there’s one thing in particular in that document that might, maybe, should have had a little asterisk next to it that accounted for today’s day and age, which the founding fathers did not,” he added.

Paul’s remark on the exhibition of amazing rights and freedom of people who live in America may not sound sonorous to everyone who actually lives. In fact, as Paul speaks, he enjoys somewhat privilege a person of another color would not.

Considering the incessant obstacles faced by minorities and the recent abolition of a woman’s right to abort, to locate the amazing freedom and right of which Paul, in high regard, speaks, is indeed a hard task.

Say anything, but let’s not discourage Paul. If a real estate tycoon with countless controversies can rule the nation with a juicy dream to be great again, why can’t Paul? To quote Green Day, “One nation controlled by the media. Information age of hysteria. Go!”
