Notably, Paul also leaked a video about the confrontation between the two and has claimed that he wanted to fight the heavyweight boxer since then. “I’ve wanted this fight ever since Hasim ran his big mouth to me 2 years ago in the gym.” Paul wrote in an Instagram post. Moreover, it looks like Rahman Jr. is now sharing his side of the story as he came out with some very damaging information regarding Paul’s camp.
Hasim Rahman Jr reveals confidential information
In an interview with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, the 12-1 boxer stated that he was trying to only humble Paul during the session and claimed that ‘The Problem Child’ disrespected the sanctity of the sport.
“I was just trying to humble him a little bit and tell him, I’m in here handicapped a bit. I knew he was going to chop it up the way he did. That’s what you see where I was upset in the video. Like, ‘No, you being disrespectful now.’”
He further continued, “It had nothing to do with the actual boxing, the sparring session. It was just his disrespect for the sport and for what we were doing. I came to give you a look.”
Moreover, he then went on and revealed that he had no intention of beating Paul and that the YouTuber’s coaches had asked Rahman Jr. not to knock him out. “I didn’t come to beat you up, or to see if you were even on my level, or you were ready for this level. I was actually asked by your coaches not to knock you out,” Rahman Jr. added.

Furthermore, he even stated that he would not have been paid if he knocked Paul. “I was told that if I knock him out, I most likely wasn’t going to get paid. It was during the pandemic and it was $100 a round. It was easy work sparring for me. It was something I didn’t want to throw away,” said Rahman Jr.

If this was the case, it made sense for Rahman to do it. However, this made Paul’s camp look weak. The camp was trying to keep him in a protected bubble rather than making him compete without any interference. Moreover, this might even affect Paul during the fight, with Rahman having a mental advantage over him.
