

Boxing fans were upset after the cancellation of the Jake Paul vs Hasim Rahman Jr. showdown. However, fans were also divided on who was at fault at the time of the incident. Former WBC interim lightweight champion, Ryan Garcia recently took to social media to extend his support to Paul. Moreover, Rahman Jr. also clapped back at Garcia with a brutal reply.

Garcia posted a tweet siding with Paul and blaming Rahman Jr. for the cancellation. He said, “If you sign a contract to fight at a weight and then later decide you can’t bc reality hit you, then that’s on you.”

Moreover, he also added that Rahman Jr. should not have agreed to something he knew he was not capable of. And, that it is unacceptable to make oblige one’s misstep.
Meanwhile, Garcia’s statement came to Rahman Jr’s notice. In fact, he clapped back with a brutal low blow while referencing the cancellation of his fight with Javier Fortuna.
Notably, Garcia had taken a hiatus to focus on his mental health and well-being.
Why was the Hasim Rahman Jr vs Jake Paul showdown canceled?
Jake Paul was scheduled to face Hasim Rahman Jr. at the iconic Madison Square Garden arena in New York City on August 6, 2022. In fact, it is worth noting that boxing fans were anticipating a thunderous showdown. However, much to their dismay, it was recently reported that the bout was canceled.

Paul’s promoter, Most Valuable Promotions recently posted a tweet announcing the cancellation of the fight. Notably, at the signing of the contract, Rahman Jr. had agreed to come in at 205 lb. But, at the most recent weight check by New York State Athletic Commission, it was reported that he had lost less than a pound. Moreover, Rahman Jr’s camp stated that he will be coming in at 215 lb.
This in turn led to the cancellation of the fight.

Additionally, Paul took to social media to express his displeasure at Rahman Jr. He mentioned that his opponents lacked professionalism and that they were intimidated by him. Moreover, he also apologized to his fans and to the other fighters on the card.
