“He Deserves a Belt” – John Fury Talks About Dillian Whyte

Dillian Whyte ranks among the most prominent heavyweights of the modern era. In just a brief span of time, he’s stirred the entire division and has become a fan favorite. Whyte has hung around the game for a while and his ultimate wish is to fight for the heavyweight world title once. Accordingly, he’s put on some magnetic performances in the division to date but because of the messed up heavyweight roster, he hasn’t fetched a world title shot.
Recently, Tyson Fury’s father, John Fury, spoke to Boxing Social on Dillian Whyte.
“I want a belt on the line for Dillian Whyte. He deserves a belt, that poor lad. If they’re going to make it for a belt, yes.” he said.

Whyte in his last fight outclassed the veteran Alexander Povetkin in style. This fight was highly important for him to sustain his chances in the heavyweight division. As a result, he avenged his loss to the Russian boxer and even won the WBC interim strap.
With that, Whyte put himself on top of the contention to face the WBC champ, Tyson Fury. But with the ongoing scenario, Fury is aligned to face Deontay Wilder on October 9. That said, ‘The Body Snatcher’ will have to spend a considerable time waiting for his chance at the world title.
But prior to facing the WBC champ later, Whyte will have an opportunity in hand to defend his WBC interim title. And with that, he can also get a hang of the ring before going for the biggest fight of his life.
Will Dillian Whyte get a chance towards the world title by year-end?

The current heavyweight scenario is in a total mess and the entire division will only move forward once the Wilder vs Fury trilogy concludes.
Considering that scenario, the probability of Whyte bagging a title shot by this year seems vulnerable. That said, the British boxer should solely focus on defending his title against primal contenders in the division.
