26-1 as a pro, Jose Ramirez, who suffered the first loss of his boxing career against Josh Taylor, bid goodbye to his WBC and WBO belts. However, the bad blood between both men no longer prevails. The duo had a heated build-up to the fight.
However, it was all respect after the fight. Taylor went ahead to his opponent and expressed his gratitude, and Ramirez reciprocated his gesture.

In the post-fight interview, ‘Jaguar’ shed light on his interaction with Josh Taylor after their in-ring battle.
“He did what I was expecting him to do, you know. That’s show respect, and he showed respect. That’s all he did. He showed respect he showed that was being a competitor throughout the week and he wanted to win so bad that he wanted to get in my mind. But he did apologize because he came to find out that my family was, my son was around,” said Jose Ramirez.
Taylor has also revealed that the only reason he trash-talked his opponent was to hype their recent fight. In his post-fight speech, ‘The Tartan Tornado’ praised the Mexican-American boxer for his efforts. While the first encounter saw both men give their best, it further leaves the door open for a rematch.
Josh Taylor and Jose Ramirez- What’s next for them?
The recent Top Rank headliner can drive both men into different zones ahead. While a move up the welterweight division would be alluring for Taylor, he can also choose to defend his titles at 140 lbs. Meanwhile, Jose Ramirez will look forward to returning to the win column.
