Mayweather Sr stated that his father wasn’t particularly around and didn’t provide for his family. He added that his father even left home when he was just 5 years old. However, he still loved him just due to the blood bond they shared.

‘Not to be disrespectful but my father wasn’t that different from a lot of other fathers, he didn’t do anything for his kids. ‘Kids, they feel it. And age fifteen, that’s a devastating time to leave. But at the end of the day, he was still my father. He wasn’t the best father in the world and he wasn’t the worst father in the world,” he said.
