From just following the sport as a true fan to showing some of the smartest striking maneuvers in the octagon to actually going ten rounds with the best in the game, Floyd Mayweather, Conor McGregor has proven his love for boxing time and time again.
Just a few days back, ‘The Notorious’ Conor McGregor retweeted a clip of his only boxing rival’s protege, Gervonta Davis. He shared a clip of ‘Tank’ displaying beautiful ring control and laying Leo Santa Cruz flat on his back with 20 seconds left in round 6. He wrote and captioned the post by saying, “Just incredible placement! @ProperWhiskey”.

Soon after the Irishman put this out there on social media, word reached the man himself, who is now ready to pounce back in action on December 5 against Isaac Cruz. In a recent interview with FightHype, Gervonta Davis recently even reacted to McGregor’s social media post.
McGregor and his mentor do not look eye-to-eye and still take random shots at each other from time to time; however, Gervonta Davis put all differences aside and appreciated him for his words.
“I’m not trying to be cocky but like, I can box. I mean, he sees that, he’s a fighter, I mean he’s not a boxer but he’s in combat sports, so he knows what’s going on. I definitely appreciate him for saying that,” said Gervonta Davis.
Is Conor McGregor really a fan of Floyd Mayweather’s protege, Gervonta Davis?
Conor McGregor absolutely loves to talk about his ‘Proper Twelve’ Irish Whiskey, so much so that he likes to even take the time to suggest food pairings to his fans on Twitter.
He recently retweeted this clip of Gervonta Davis knocking out Leo Santa Cruz and mentioned “incredible placement”; however, it would not be out of character for the Irishman even if he was simply talking about the placement of the huge ‘Proper Twelve’ logo right at the center of the ring, instead of Davis’ striking precision.
