“He Lost the Fire”- Trainer Reveals What Went Wrong for Daniel Dubois Against Joe Joyce

An undefeated Daniel Dubois entered the against Joe Joyce, and being the younger one between the two, several people envisioned him to walk off victorious. However, Joe Joyce put his experience on display and handed Dubois his maiden defeat.
While the unbeaten heavyweights had everything at stake, Joe Joyce departed with the last laugh. However, Dubois and his team have dusted off the defeat and have revealed the exact thing that went wrong. Daniel Dubois, Frank Warren, and trainer Mark Bowers discussed the fight with IFL TV, claiming the third-round injury to have changed the outcome.
“I would probably say when we got injured in the third round. From then on, it changed the pattern of the fight, and obviously, Daniel had the bad eye. And his depth perception changed quite a lot. And he wasn’t moving his head as much as he could have or should have,” said Bowers.

Joe Joyce exhibited a lopsided dominance against ‘Dynamite’ Dubois and showed the true value of experience. Meanwhile, ‘Juggernaut’ also bagged the right to claim a WBO Interim title shot against Oleksandr Usyk. Nevertheless, Dubois seems eager for an early return and is already optimistic about regaining his lost spot in the heavyweight division.
Speaking on it, Bowers continued, “But listen, it’s like everything. We can all analyze and we will be clever after the fact. At the end of the day, he (Daniel Dubois) got an injury, and he lost the fire. You know, that’s what it is.”
