Mike Tyson and Francis Ngannou share a lot in common. Both combatants have been the Heavyweight champions of their respective sports after coming from humble beginnings. They are also considered as one of the most intimidating knock-out artists of all time. The two have interacted with each other on several occasions. In a recent episode of, ‘Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson,‘ the former UFC Heavyweight champion was featured on as a guest.
Their podcast comes just a few weeks after Tyson agreed to train Ngannou for his boxing debut against Tyson Fury. Moreover, they discussed a great lot about the time they were homeless and shared their experiences. So without further ado, let’s dive into what the discussion was all about.

Mike Tyson and Francis Ngannou on self-respect and pride
Mike Tyson and Ngannou share a rags-to-riches story and have experienced extreme highs and lows. Moreover, Ngannou asserts that there are certain homeless people he came across who would continue to live in dignity even during the worst of times. In addition, he expresses that their self-belief will not let them succumb to any hardship.
He stated, “I think the better ball is that you have believe in yourself and try it out. So many people with dignity even when they’re homeless would not accept those kind of thing. Oh to go somebody and say ah I need soap, I need this.” He adds, “It’s quite embarrassing. You have a pride, so many people have a pride. Like sometimes you see a homeless it’s hard to help him because he’s still has a pride.”

In response, Tyson was curious to know the extent of that, ‘pride’ and whether it would result in someone’s death. He responded, “What if he has to starve? He has that kind of pride that he would starve to death.” To which, Ngannou stayed on his ground and continued to assert that their determination to get out of poverty with their hard-work will prevent them lending above everything else. Thereafter, Ngannou and ‘Iron Mike’ described the different lives they lived when they were homeless.

Tyson makes a revelation
Amidst their conversation, ‘Kid Dynamite’ was curious to know if Ngannou ever stole things during his time in France when he was broke. The Cameroonian revealed that he never really stole. However, Tyson disclosed that he would frequently steal stuff. He stated, “It is in my blood I steal when I am hungry. Look at that f*cking hamburger or something.”
