After suffering a sad defeat at the hands of Gervonta DavisRoland Romero came back to win the WBA Super Lightweight belt. He defeated Ismael Barroso, securing a knockout victory in the ninth round. Now as he flaunts his new title, he is ready to go up against none other than Ryan Garcia. Both fighters have experienced only one career loss, and both were defeated by Tank. Their similarities are what will make this fight a must-watch.

While in terms of popularity, ‘King Ry’ busts Rolly out of the window. However, it is not the same when it comes to skills. Former World Champion Jamel Herring seems to agree as he warns Garcia to be cautious of Rolly. ‘Semper Fi’ went on ‘Pro Boxing Fans’ and talked about the possible Rolly Romero vs. Ryan Garica bout. In the interview, Herring said, “I understand the business side of things like again shout out to Rollies,” referencing the fact that Garcia chose to fight Romero instead of Devin Haney. Herring mentioned how the match will be hard as Romero is someone who can actually hurt you. He proceeded to say, “He’s liable to catch you and he probably gonna put pressure on you to get to you. That’s not an easy fight,” referencing Rolly’s skills in the ring.

The former champion went on to talk of Garcia’s future fight if he manages to beat Romero. He said, “Let’s say Ryan does win, of course, unification does make it a bigger fight but hopefully he really wants to come back around to the fight and not just saying it right now in the public,” talking of how Garcia vs. Devin Haney would be a unification bout that he will have to go to if he manages to win this one against Romero.

Herring concluded the thought by saying that no matter who he faces next, he will be happy if it eventually makes it way to Haney vs. Garcia. Herring is not the only legend talking of Garcia’s fight with Romero. The undefeated Floyd Money Mayweather also partook in the buzz surrounding the fight. Let’s see what he had to say.

While Ryan Garcia, who is currently with Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions, is yet to be signed to Mayweather Promotions, it seems Money Mayweather is already doing his job of promoting his fights.
