The highly awaited trilogy bout between Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury will take place on October 9. The two heavyweights will face each other in the ring at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Weeks ahead of the clash, Bob Arum updated fans on Tyson Fury’s training.
In a chat with BoxingScene, Arum said, “I talked to him [Tuesday]. He was shouting how great he’s doing, how he’s killing sparring partners. He arrives in Las Vegas on Saturday, this Saturday. He’ll take Sunday off and then he’ll resume training at the Top Rank Gym on Monday. He’s been training twice a day in England. And ‘Sugar Hill’ is over there with him.”

For his fight against Wilder, ‘The Gypsy King’ trained at the Top Rank Gym all summer. Unfortunately, as the undefeated WBC champ tested positive for COVID-19, he had to pull out of the fight. However, per Arum, Fury seems to be in ominous form.

The last time they faced each other, Fury knocked down ‘The Bronze Bomber’ in the third and the fifth round of their fight. In the seventh round, Wilder’s former assistant trainer Mark Breland threw the towel in and stopped the fight. This decision ultimately led Wilder to fire him as the boxer felt Breland stopped the fight prematurely.

“Tyson will send him into retirement this time. He’ll never box after this. He’s going to get beat to pieces, smashed to pieces… He got humiliated last time, let the whole of America down. Tyson smashed him to pieces. He’s lucky to be boxing Tyson again for a third time… He don’t deserve it. After that last performance, it should have been him and ‘AJ’.”
Tyson Fury himself predicted that he will walk through his American rival. Who do you think will win on October 9? Does Wilder have what it takes to beat Fury and win his belts back?
