Former WBC champion Deontay Wilder seems solely focused on Tyson Fury ahead of the epic trilogy fight, which might bring him back his lost belt. However, Wilder and his team have envisioned some plans beyond that. For a brief period in the boxing universe, Wilder vs Joshua was a much-anticipated bout.
Although the matchup doesn’t look likely to happen now, Wilder’s trainer Malik Scott has shared his opinion on ‘AJ’. ‘King’ Scott’ praised Joshua’s success, before targeting a fight between him and Wilder,
Speaking about Anthony Joshua, Malik Scott said, “Very good fighter. Has shown improvements over time. After we KO Tyson Fury, he’s next. Undisputed.”

First, ‘The Bronze Bomber’ will have to surpass Fury and then advance to the unification bout. Following a lopsided defeat in 2020, not many people have backed Wilder to win the trilogy on July 24. However, ‘The Bronze Bomber’ seems unbothered about the critics and has vowed to dismantle Tyson Fury in their third meeting.
That said, Anthony Joshua will defend his unified belts against WBO mandatory Oleksandr Usyk next. If Wilder and Joshua secure wins in their next appearances, only then we can envision a unification matchup between them. Although several factors can hamper the possible showdown, there’s no denying that Wilder vs Joshua would allure several boxing fans.

While Anthony Joshua holds the unified heavyweight belts, the Alabama native doesn’t have a world title around his waist.

However, a win against Tyson Fury would change that and revive Wilder’s status in the heavyweight division. Although it wouldn’t be an undemanding task, Deontay Wilder can still shock the world with a big win on board.
