“I Am Still Faster Than 95% of the Boxing World” – Roy Jones Jr. Makes a Bold Claim

A lot has been said about Mike Tyson ahead of the hugely anticipated bout. However, his opponent, Roy Jones Jr is arguably one of the most underrated boxers around. ‘Captain Hook’ is a former pound-for-pound king who scaled the heights of four different divisions during his illustrious boxing career.
Ahead of the hugely anticipated exhibition bout against former undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, Mike Tyson, here’s what RJJ had to say.
“I can’t believe that I am able to maintain my speed at 51-years old. At 51-years of age, I am still faster than 95% of the boxing world and it shocks me. When I watch, how in the world can this be, it’s the craziest thing ever.”

However, at 51-years of age, Jones Jr. understands the pain that comes with age. Needless to say, it has not stopped him and he is looking extremely confident ahead of the bout.
Jones Jr. said, “But you know, the aches and pains are there because you are 50-51, they are gonna be there no matter what you do. It’s like, you just got to have the mental strength to overcome adversity and overcome the things, the little elements that come in your way.”

It’s hard not to agree with Roy Jones Jr. The mental prowess of an individual plays an equally important role in physical well-being. ‘Captain Hook’ stands as a living example of someone who triumphed over multiple adversities.
