Sylvester Stallone lived the life of an underdog boxer on the Hollywood screen, and became a legendary icon. Despite not being a boxer, this sport changed his entire life. His struggling career of acting got wings with the beginning of the Rocky series. The first part was released in 1976, and turned out to be a blockbuster. This classic cult made Stallone a poster boy.

Recently, he shared an interesting incident on Instagram. The context of this story surrounds the last film of the Rocky series. He dropped his picture along with a video clip. The caption of the post read, “This is an interesting story that I’ve never told but it shows what can be done in spite of what is going against you.”

The picture shows Stallone standing in the ring with gloves on and ready to box.

The clip he shared carried the thing of interest. He filmed the video of his Nike shoes that he used back then on the set of Rocky Balboa. Notably, they were quite old because the last movie of this franchise was released in 2006. So one can understand how important these white pair of shoes were for the legend.

With those shoes on, he did all the training. He kept them because those shoes carry like a memorabilia. It meant a lot to him as Stallone lived as Balboa.

What did Sylvester Stallone say in the clip?

In the clip, the 76-year-old actor, narrated the tragic injury that forced him to open one shoe from the front to carry on with the work.

“This may seem old or something. Well, I keep these as reminders. When I was doing the last Rocky Balboa. When I was fighting Jackson and all that. I broke two toes, broken in half. I couldn’t get my foot in my shoes so the entire choreography and training for the film.

He continued, “I kept opening of my shoes so my swollen foot get in and we kept moving forward so I keep this as a reminder that you know when it hurts sometimes that’s a good ailment because when it comes too easy, it usually is not very very good.”
