‘I Felt I Was Next on the List of People That Was Dying’: Mike Tyson & Recent Podcast Guest Suffered Same Fate

Boxing legend Mike Tyson and his long-time friend and songwriter Bobby Brown have suffered the same fate. In the latest episode of Tyson’s podcast HotBoxin, it was revealed that both decided to quit their substance abuse after a tragic incident that both suffered.

In the show, the co-host and former NBA player Matt Barnes asked Tyson when he decided to quit using drugs. Iron Mike then stated that it was the death of his daughter that made him realize it was time to quit his addictions. “After my daughter died. I believe that’s when that happened, like a month after that,” said Tyson

Brown then revealed that the passing away of his daughter was also what made him quit. He claimed that he was at the point where he had to decide to either live or die as musicians like him started dying due to drug addictions. “It’s probably around the same time you know that I had to make the decision to either live right or die. You know what I’m saying because I felt I was next on the list of people people that was dying I mean in our industry people was dropping like this and yeah. I believe it was around the same time for me also when my daughter died,” said Brown.

Tyson’s daughter Exodus tragically passed away in 2009 at just the age of 4. She passed away after a freak accident after hanging herself on a cord dangling from a treadmill. Brown’s daughter Bobbi Kristina passed away back in 2015 because of lobar pneumonia following six months in a coma.

While his daughter’s tragic death was certainly an eye-opener for Iron Mike, adopting a healthy diet also helped him overcome his drug addiction. In an interview with Oprah Tyson stated that becoming vegan helped him lose weight and deal with the health issues like blood pressure. “Becoming a vegan gave me another opportunity to live a healthy life. I was so congested from all the drugs and bad c***ne, I could hardly breathe, had high blood pressure, almost dying, arthritis. And once I became a vegan, all that stuff diminished.” he said

Despite having trouble with drugs and alcohol, Tyson has managed to change his life for the better. He has also proved his mental toughness after being dealt with some of the hardest situations throughout his life.
