While talking about his opponent’s bold claim, Garcia told Fight Hype, “I said idiots man, he’s not gonna knock me out. He could try to knock me out he could attempt to. Actually, I prefer he tries to go for the knockout. Please come try to knock me out.”
Garcia is very confident about his win over Fortuna. According to him, the latter could not alter the result of the fight no matter what he does.

In Garcia’s opinion, Fortuna was scared of him. He was trying to pull away from a fight by putting forth excuses for weight adjustment. The latter even talked about this to Garcia’s manager. Furthermore, he claimed, “I forced him into it. Now I’m going to break him down with my stamina, my skill level and my you. He’s not going to be able to do it. He’ll be up, he’ll probably last for two rounds maybe depending if he don’t get caught but once he gets tired I’m beating the dog s**t up right.”
Earlier, the duo was most likely to materialize the bout a year ago, but back then, Garcia pulled out of the fight because of mental health issues.
