It appears Gervonta Davis isn’t just ruling over the hearts of boxing fans but also has found favor with Hollywood actor Shia LaBeouf! However, the same cannot be said about Ryan Garcia, whom LaBeouf is repulsed by. Garcia and Davis competed against each other last year in April, and much like LaBeouf, fans favored Davis.

After six rounds of battle, Davis ended the fight in the seventh via a well-placed body shot. At the time, Garcia faced criticism for quitting the fight! However, that’s not the reason the ‘Transformer’ lead claims to hate Garcia’s guts. While appearing in an interview with Carl Froch,  LaBeouf revealed his discontent with ‘King Ry.’

Shia LaBeouf claims he loves the whole lightweight lineup

Speaking to the actor and filmmaker, Froch fired a series of questions at LaBeouf! When asked about his favorite boxer, the 37-year-old actor stated, “Right now, Gervonta Davis. He’s electrifying. [I like] him, Shakur, like that whole weight class, that whole division.” However, he made it extremely clear that Ryan Garcia isn’t one of them.

“Other than Ryan, all of those guys – that they promote are fire…I don’t like that Ryan guy,” said LaBeouf. When Froch tried to figure out the reason behind his aversion to Garcia, the actor claimed, “I heard a story about his girl. [She] got pregnant, gave birth, and then he divorced her the next day.”

It’s worth mentioning that Garcia announced the birth of his child on Instagram, followed by revealing his separation from his wife, Andrea Celina. He had gotten a lot of backlash, even from the boxing world. So, LaBeouf claimed, “I thought you’re garbage…Even if you feel that way, dog, wait a minute. She just got out of the hospital room.” While LaBeouf expressed his discontent, here’s why the couple separated.

Ryan Garcia and wife separated due to irreconcilable differences

Following the announcement in January, a report from TMZ Sports suggested that the former couple had separated due to “irreconcilable differences” between them, revealed by court documents. The documents also revealed that the couple of three years went their separate ways back in December 2023. 

What’s more, the documents shed light on Garcia’s openness to paying child support for his children as per their “reasonable needs.” Garcia will also pay spousal support to his ex-wife for seventeen and a half months, half the time they were married. In a later statement, Garcia claimed that the ex-couple is dedicated to overseeing the well-being of their children.

It turns out that Ryan Garcia didn’t just lose his fight against Gervonta Davis. He even lost the respect of Shia LaBeouf due to how he handled his divorce.
