Hollywood actor Chirs Rock became the talk of the town last year after Will Smith did the unexpected with him. The Men In Black actor slapped Rock publically, at the Academy Awards last year after the comedian made a few jokes about Smith’s wife Jada Pinkett Smith. Smith who already has a quite rocky relationship with his wife chose to use physical force to teach Rock a lesson. However, this plan certainly backfired as Smith was highly criticized for his unprofessionalism.

Nonetheless, the comedian took the slap on his chin and never publically came out addressing this issue until now. Rock has finally shared his thoughts on this infamous fiasco and claimed that he was not the victim in this situation but rather a warrior who took the slap head-on. He even compared himself to former eight-division champion Manny Pacquiao as he addressed the slap for the first time.

“You all know what happened to me, getting smacked by Will Smith. Everybody knows. Everybody f****** knows. I got smacked like a year ago… and people are like, ‘Did it hurt?’ It still hurts. I got ‘Summertime’ ringing in my ears… I’m not a victim baby, you will never see me on Oprah or Gayle crying. You will never see it… It’s never going to happen. F**k that s**t, I took that s**t like Pacquiao,” he said.

The stand-up comedian certainly took this one on the chin and addressed this issue for the first time in public. Moreover, it is great to see him not keep this incident in the back of his head and even make some fun of himself to entertain the audience. This is the reason why he is so loved among fans and his peers alike, except Smith.

Will Smith reveals how Floyd Mayweather called him after the infamous fiasco

Smith revealed that former five-division champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. developed a close relationship with him after this incident. In an interview with TMZ, he revealed that ‘Money’ Mayweather called him and talked about how he was feeling following this debacle. Moreover, this was something that Smith would appreciate as he praised Mayweather for being a pillar of support for him.

“I want to say something also about Floyd. So, we’ve met each other, we’ve seen each other around, but we weren’t like, friends. And, the day after the Oscars, for ten days he called me every day. And, he was like, ‘Ay, you know you the champ, right? You good? You know you the champ, right? I want you to hear my voice say it. That was every day he called me … and it’s like, that’s my dude forever right there,” said Smith.

The Men In Black actor would also later apologize for his transgressions and claimed that he should not have slapped Rock. However, in the heat of the moment, Smith restored to violence when his wife was somewhat disrespected by Rock. In addition, this incident will forever be remembered in the history books as one of the most bizarre ones in the history of the Oscar awards.
